With the help of our wonderful volunteers, Regenerate has been able to furnish new homes for families escaping family violence. Regenerate volunteers assist with making beds, unpacking goods, assembling and moving furniture, and putting away kitchenware.

When we were told about the project that Regenerate, in collaboration with Launch Housing, was undertaking to furnish apartments for women and children escaping violence and homelessness, we were eager to be involved. The number of apartments was rather overwhelming but the efficient, positive, and highly organised team from Regenerate, put us at ease and we were able to set to work immediately. We were warmly welcomed onto the team and felt our efforts, despite our age, were appreciated. It was very rewarding, useful work and we did feel we could contribute in a small way to make a positive difference to someone else’s life. If another project presented itself, we would love to be involved.

What a thoroughly rewarding experience I had volunteering at Regenerate! I was extremely impressed with the degree of detail that went into the fitting out of each room. The goods selected were of the highest quality with extra thought and consideration being taken with the pre-washing of linen, towels & kitchenware. The level of care shown by the charity was exceptional. The atmosphere on site each day made it enjoyable to participate and as a volunteer I felt valued and appreciated. Regenerate are a wonderful organisation to be involved with and they should be extremely proud of their achievements.

The work that Regenerate do for victims of domestic violence is overwhelming, so to have the opportunity to volunteer for such an organisation is incredibly humbling. Volunteering for Regenerate is an amazing experience. All of the logistics are so well organised that every minute of work feels worthwhile and useful. There are few things quite as satisfying as a hard days’ work, and when this can be done for the direct benefit of others it is more rewarding than I can explain. The women and children in these situations could easily be our relatives or friends. “There but for the Grace of God go I.” I am grateful for any small thing that I can do to help Regenerate improve their situation. I hope to be able to volunteer again and again.
